December has been a rough month in our house. The babies were kind enough to not get sick at the same time, but it’s meant we’ve had a solid two weeks of coughs, fevers, ear infections, runny noses, and lots of tears.
We have not had a lot of sleep.
Deek and I are pretty sleep deprived, and the other night while we were propping each other up he reminded me of the wise words of the Hag himself.
If we make it through December
Everything’s gonna be all right, I know
It’s the coldest time of winter
And I shiver when I see the falling snow.
And because of the aforementioned sleep deprivation I found it to be the funniest thing I had heard in a long time. So now it’s our official theme song for the remainder of the month. Yes, we have a theme song. You should really get one.
And thanks, Deek, for being my best Okie from Muskogee.
Judson has a few favorite spots in our new house. One of those is standing in the dining room chair by the window observing the neighborhood. The fingerprint smudges on the window tell the story, and we love those little smudges!
Deek and I love his little personality. He’s so bright and curious.
Recently we moved back home to Georgia from Kentucky. I never officially wrote about that little experience. It’s been a good one. A little stressful at times for me. We finally found our missing can opener last week (thank the Lord), and everyone is settling into a nice routine.
One week after Delaney’s birth my mom, Judson, Delaney and I hopped on a plane and headed South. Deek and his dad stayed in Kentucky one final weekend to load up the moving van and say good-bye to our church.
The babies and I stayed with my parents until Deek made it into town.
Judson discovered the water hose one afternoon while we were playing outside. Delaney snuggled in Granddaddy’s arms. JuJu played in the water with Judson. I took pictures. A fun time was had by all!
A few weeks ago we all packed up, and took a trip down to Georgia to celebrate Judson’s first birthday with family. We had the party on Mrs. Laura and Mr. Brian’s back porch which is one of Judson’s favorite spots. He loves swinging on the porch calling the ducks.
Our theme was baseball, and we had a great time. Aunt April was sweet to take pictures so Deek and I could enjoy Judson and the party. Judson loved celebrating his first birthday with family.
NaNa and Papa’s yard looked beautiful with flowers blooming everywhere. JuJu did all of our grocery shopping for us, and came in really early to help cook and decorate. Aunt Meagan helped so much with getting the finishing touches just right. Aunt Kristina made our yummy cake and smash cake.
And…because Judson says there can’t ever be a celebration without lots of balloons Granddaddy, Daddy, JuJu and Aunt Meagan blew up a lot of balloons! (over 200 🙂 )
Thanks to everyone who came and those who helped. We couldn’t imagine celebrating Judson’s birthday any other way!
