Sick Babies & Merle Haggard

December has been a rough month in our house. The babies were kind enough to not get sick at the same time, but it’s meant we’ve had a solid two weeks of coughs, fevers, ear infections, runny noses, and lots of tears.

We have not had a lot of sleep.

Deek and I are pretty sleep deprived, and the other night while we were propping each other up he reminded me of the wise words of the Hag himself.

If we make it through December

Everything’s gonna be all right, I know

It’s the coldest time of winter

And I shiver when I see the falling snow.

And because of the aforementioned sleep deprivation I found it to be the funniest thing I had heard in a long time. So now it’s our official theme song for the remainder of the month. Yes, we have a theme song. You should really get one.

Thanks, Merle.

And thanks, Deek, for being my best Okie from Muskogee.

Waving at the neighbors!

Judson has a few favorite spots in our new house. One of those is standing in the dining room chair by the window observing the neighborhood. The fingerprint smudges on the window tell the story, and we love those little smudges!

Deek and I love his little personality. He’s so bright and curious.

Pumpkin Bowling

I love a little boy and a little pumpkin picking as you can tell, but sometimes when you have a little fellow as active as my Judson you go pumpkin bowling instead.

Trust me. It's a real thing. I invented it.

Allow Judson to explain.

Pick your pumpkin.

Give it a good pitch down the driveway. Repeat this step with as many pumpkins as your mom has.

Delaney | 6 Months Stats

This little cherub celebrated her 1/2 year birthday just a few days ago! So we had a quick photo shoot while big brother was taking a nap, and we tried on our Christmas dress for good measure.

Delaney wasn’t really in the mood to have her picture taken.

However, we got a few good ones anyway because she is the absolute best baby and cannot take a bad picture!  Just ask her mother, father, grandparents, etc, etc. etc.

No crawling just yet, but she can roll over with the best of them. She smiles and laughs all of the time. She loves kisses and hugs, and thinks big brother is the most hilarious person alive.

She is rolling over and actually seems to enjoy tummy time!

She squeals and coos, and loves to be told how pretty she is…which there’s no shortage of people willing to do that!

She has started trying baby food, but the jury is still out on what we think about that. She makes the absolute funniest faces when you feed her. Apples seems to be our favorite so far.

Big brother Judson is our favorite person around. We could watch him play all day! She giggles any time he runs by with his golf club in hand.

Delaney turned 3 months old this past Saturday, and I cried a little on the inside (kidding…sort of). Time really does fly with the second baby.

Hi, Mom!

She is the happiest little lady. Smiles and coos all of the time. Loves one-on-one interaction!

This is one of my pouty faces. Works like a charm!

She is a great little eater, and is growing every single day.

Do you see what Granddaddy and JuJu are letting me do?

Recently we moved back home to Georgia from Kentucky. I never officially wrote about that little experience. It’s been a good one. A little stressful at times for me. We finally found our missing can opener last week (thank the Lord), and everyone is settling into a nice routine.

One week after Delaney’s birth my mom, Judson, Delaney and I hopped on a plane and headed South. Deek and his dad stayed in Kentucky one final weekend to load up the moving van and say good-bye to our church.

The babies and I stayed with my parents until Deek made it into town.

Judson discovered the water hose one afternoon while we were playing outside. Delaney snuggled in Granddaddy’s arms. JuJu played in the water with Judson. I took pictures. A fun time was had by all!

Delaney | 2 Months

Our little girl turned two months this past Wednesday.

It feels like she was born just yesterday, and at the same time it feels like a lifetime ago.

We thought life was perfect before she came along, but since her arrival life has been a little extra sweeter.

She has the prettiest blue eyes and a perfect little mouth. She is cooing and smiling all of the time, and really likes her mama.

She is a great little eater, and only wakes one time in the night.

You could set your clock by her. She requests an early morning snack at precisely 3:00AM each morning. We are happy to oblige.

She watches everything big brother Judson does, and he is already showing some protective instincts towards her.

Judson’s First Birthday Party

Judson's First Birthday!
Judson’s First Birthday!

A few weeks ago we all packed up, and took a trip down to Georgia to celebrate Judson’s first birthday with family. We had the party on Mrs. Laura and Mr. Brian’s back porch which is one of Judson’s favorite spots. He loves swinging on the porch calling the ducks.

Our theme was baseball, and we had a great time. Aunt April was sweet to take pictures so Deek and I could enjoy Judson and the party. Judson loved celebrating his first birthday with family.

NaNa and Papa’s yard looked beautiful with flowers blooming everywhere. JuJu did all of our grocery shopping for us, and came in really early to help cook and decorate. Aunt Meagan helped so much with getting the finishing touches just right. Aunt Kristina made our yummy cake and smash cake.

And…because Judson says there can’t ever be a celebration without lots of balloons Granddaddy, Daddy, JuJu and Aunt Meagan blew up a lot of balloons! (over 200 🙂 )

Thanks to everyone who came and those who helped. We couldn’t imagine celebrating Judson’s birthday any other way!

Here are some photos from our fun day!

What a fun day!
